You do not need to be a trend analyst or a sociologist to sense the panic that is all around us. leading up to and throughout the year, I have become acutely aware of the ongoing panic expressed by the media and members of my community. Being a financial planner, I know that when people start to panic with their money, they often act rashly – dumping stocks or investing in something they heard on television could "fix it all." 

As a nation, we have been in environments like this before. Remember the beginning of the financial crisis in 2007? If you do, you will recall it had the same sort of impulse-driving anxiety to it
